# How to Create Your First Free Download Gate on Fangate (Step by Step)

## Before you start

Have these ready:

- **Your track link** (SoundCloud, YouTube or Bandcamp) or the file you want to give away.
- **Your artwork**, ideally square and at least 1000 × 1000 px.
- **The actions you want to ask for.** Decide in advance: two or three is ideal.

## Step 1 — Create your free account

Go to [fangate.eu](https://www.fangate.eu/) and click **Register for free**. There is no credit card, no trial period and no paid plan waiting at the end. Every feature is included for every artist.

## Step 2 — Add your track

Paste your track link or upload your file. Add a clear title (Artist — Track Title), your artwork and, if you like, a short description: the story behind the track, the genre, or a thank-you note.

## Step 3 — Choose the fan actions

This is the heart of your gate. Depending on your goals, you can ask fans to:

- Subscribe on YouTube
- Follow on Deezer
- Leave their email address
